Tips For Maintaining A Wooden High Chair
A wooden high chair is sturdy, long lasting and easily matches the interior decoration of any home. There are a number of ways that you can make sure that your wooden high chair lasts you for a long time and the tips below will show you how to maintain your high chair so that it serves you for quite some time.
- You have to regularly clean your wooden high chair as you would your dining table. The tray and the seat of the chair should be wiped down after each meal and a thorough clean of the chair should be carried out once a week.
- If there is a plastic tray with the chair then you should either hand wash this or put it in the dishwasher but don't leave it to soak.
- It is important not to leave any wet items on the tray of the chair as this can damage the tray.
- Carry out regular cleaning of the grooves on the high chair at least once every week.
- If you don't have plastic seat covers for the chair then make sure that you buy a spare cover; that way you can wash one while you use the other one. If required, you can polish its legs, arms, sides and seat occasionally when the chair loses its luster.
- Never use furniture polish on the tray. Warm soapy water and a soft cloth is a better choice. Then, the tray has to be rinsed with clean water and dried using a paper or soft cotton towel.
- Keep a lookout for loose screws, bolts, tray problems or seat straps that can make the chair wobbly or unsafe.
